How it works
Set it up once, then use it each afternoon.
The school prepares the roster and family cards. During pickup, each station has one simple job.
Prepare the school
Import students and faculty from a CSV file. Review sibling groups, set the queue timing, and practice with fake families before using real student data.
Send each family a card
Families can save the card image, bookmark its link, or add it to Apple Wallet. The school can also print cards and replace a code when one is lost.

Record the arrival
At the curb, scan the family card or search by name. Choose the siblings leaving that day. Staff can also enter a student who is missing from the roster.

Call students out
The student's name appears in the student area. New arrivals stand out, and the wait color changes when someone has been waiting longer than usual.

Confirm the exit
The exit team finds the student by name and marks the pickup complete. If someone taps the wrong name, they can undo it.

Keep the roster current
Preview student imports before they change the roster. Returning students can be matched by SIS ID. Administrators can edit students or fix family groups without erasing earlier pickup records.
Send cards when you are ready
Choose the families, write one message from the school, preview the email, and send yourself a test. Nothing goes out until an administrator confirms the batch.
Control staff and device access
Add faculty one at a time or import a list. Administrators can assign roles, use passwordless sign-in, approve a shared iPad for the day, and end an active session.
Handle the odd cases
Staff can search when a family forgets its card or enter a student who is not on the roster. Administrators can review new students later. A release-attention marker can flag a special case without making the decision for staff.

See who is waiting and for how long. The dashboard also shows the day's average pickup time and whether the most recent pickups are moving faster or slower.
Keep a useful record
Laneroo keeps a school activity log and can export the day's events. Personal information is encrypted in the database, family codes can be replaced, and backups are checked for recovery.
For families
One family card, kept wherever it is convenient.
Families do not need an account. The school sends the card, and the family saves it in the way that works for them.
- Save the image to a phone, bookmark the private link, or add the card to Apple Wallet.
- One card can cover siblings in the same family. Staff choose which students are leaving that day.
- A family can show the card on a phone or carry a printed copy. Staff can search by name if the card is forgotten.
- The QR code and Wallet pass use a replaceable lookup code. They do not include student names, grades, or SIS identifiers.
- Card emails do not include student names. Laneroo does not track whether a family opens the email or clicks the link.

What the card does
A coordination tool, not an authorization system.
A Laneroo card helps faculty find a family record. It does not prove identity, confirm pickup authorization, or enforce a custody plan.
Schools still follow their existing procedures for identity, authorization, custody, and release. Laneroo keeps the pickup queue organized while staff follow those procedures.

Questions schools usually ask first.
Do faculty or families need to install an app?
No. Faculty use Laneroo in a modern browser on a phone, tablet, or computer. Families can save a card image, bookmark its link, use Apple Wallet, or keep a printed copy.
How does a school get its roster into Laneroo?
An administrator uploads CSV files for students and faculty. Before changing the roster, Laneroo shows what the import will add or update. A shared family identifier groups siblings together.
What happens when the roster changes?
Administrators can edit students and families, import an updated roster, move students between family groups, and deactivate records without erasing prior activity. A newly enrolled student can also be added from the pickup line and reviewed afterward.
What if a family forgets its pickup card?
Faculty can search active students by first or last name, then choose the right student or siblings. The card makes lookup faster, but it is not required.
Can a school use dedicated iPads at the stations?
Yes. A faculty member or administrator can approve a shared iPad with a temporary code. The iPad can switch between stations until access expires at the end of the school day.
Can the school send cards directly to families?
Yes. Administrators choose the families, preview the message, and confirm each batch. Importing a roster never sends an email by itself.
Does the QR code identify an approved pickup person?
No. The code only looks up the family and its students. The school remains responsible for identity checks, custody information, and release decisions.
How is personal information handled?
Personal information is encrypted in the database. Only approved school accounts can open the school's operational pages. Family codes can be replaced, and student names are not stored in the QR code or Wallet pass.
What happens if the internet connection is lost?
Laneroo needs a working connection to keep stations in sync. Schools should keep their usual backup process available and use it during an interruption instead of relying on an old screen.
Is Laneroo available for every school today?
Laneroo is currently working with a small number of pilot schools. Each school practices with a sample roster and test cards before using real student data.
